Palm unveil entry-level smartphone

Palm introduced its smallest smartphone ‘Centro’, making its first push into the low end mobile phone market.

Featuring a bit bigger size than a credit card with 4.2-ounce lightweight, the Centro is equipped with a qwerty keyboard, touch screen and offers the ability to read and send e-mail or manage document and spreadsheets.

Hoping to entice consumers looking for a low-cost upgrade, the company has priced the new smartphone to sell for about 100 USD. It will sell exclusively through Sprint Nextel for the rest of the year in the United States.

KDDI rolls out Infobar 2

KDDI announced the official release of bar type handset ‘Infobar 2’ in Japan market through Sanyo.

As a new product of au design project and successor of the original Infobar announced in 2003, the Infobar 2 adopts 2.6″ OLED display and supports 1-Seg with its built-in tuner, enabling users to enjoy mobile TV and reserved TV recording.

It’s battery offers about 290 minutes of talk time or 350 hours of standby time. Other features include stereo speakers, 2M camera and micro SD expansion slot. Measuring 47×138×15.5 mm and 104g, it comes in four colors including silver and gray.

Nokia 6301 – sleek stainless phone

Nokia launched it’s sleek stainless phone ‘Nokia 6301’ with UMA (Unlicensed Mobile Access) technology which integrates the benefit of landline and a mobile phone.

The Nokia 6301 features 2″ QVGA screen, 2 MP camera, MP3 playback and FM radio while weighing only 93g and measuring less than 13.1mm-thickness. It comes with a desk stand ‘DT-23’ to hold the phone and keep charged connecting to WLAN. It supports 3.5 hours of talk-time and up to 14 days of a standby time.

The Nokia 6301 is expected to be available in Europe market first in the 4Q of 2007 with an estimated retail price of 230 EUR.

Multi-player MP4 watch with 2GB capacity

Narae Inter launched its multi-player MP4 watch ‘Dream Watch’ in Korea market, which supports multimedia files playback.

Containing 2GB memory capacity, it offers six main functions: video player, voice recorder, mp3 player, photo viewer, USB flash and digital watch, controlled by six buttons on the left and the right side.

It runs about seven hours for music and four hours for video playback after 1.5 hour charge. Suggested price is more than 100,000 (KRW).

Fujifilm 7.2MP digital camera in seven brilliant colors

Fujifilm Korea announced the launch of its 7.2MP stylish compact digital camera ‘Z10fd’ in Korea market, which features 18.8mm-thick portable design and seven brilliant colors to match the latest styles of today’s fashionista.

Supporting 3x optical zoom lens, 2.5-inch LCD screen, automatic red-eye removal feature and 54MB of internal memory, the FinePix Z10fd has Face Detection Technology that identifies up to 10 human faces in a scene and sets the correct focus for a chosen primary face and exposure for all detected faces automatically.
