LG.Philips LCD Co., Ltd. (NYSE: LPL, KRX: 034220), a leading innovator of thin-film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) technology, announced today that it will showcase its newest line-up of public displays at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2008 in Las Vegas. The company’s public displays, which are designed for commercial and advertising use, range in size from 32 to 52 inches.

LG.Philips LCD’s innovative new technologies for public displays center on increasing interactivity and viewability. Multi-touch interface capabilities create a never-before-seen level of interactivity by allowing users to manipulate objects on screen, using both hands at once and even offering the precision necessary to recognize handwriting. Another technology, transflective backlights, tackles one of the key challenges in developing public displays: readability in all lighting conditions, including direct sunlight.

Bluedot is planning to launch a new 7-inch portable DVD player ‘BDP-1725’ in Japan market next year in January. The BDP-1725 features LED backlight to consume less power and supports DVD±R/RW, CD-R/RW. It offers 5 hours of play time. Suggested price is 23,000 yen. There are so many brands offering these players and all are of almost same quality that only the price factor is left for deciding which one to buy for customers.

Reigncom announced the launch of its new navigation ‘W7′ in Korea market. The W7 has 76.2mm wide LCD touch screen and features electronic dictionary, flash, CSD viewer, and SRS WOW HD. ‘W7 Car Kit’ package for navigation is offered as an option with a price tag of 99,000(KRW) and it consists of GPS cradle, power supply, dock, miniSD memory card, mini SD adapter. Suggested price for the main body is 238,000 KRW for 4GB and 288,000 KRW for 8GB.
