ASUS P527 GPS Smartphone

Asus plans to launch its new GPS smart phone ‘P527′ in the USA market in the first half of this year. Noticeable features include ‘Travelog’ and ‘Location Courier’; the Travelog enables users to record their travel itinerary and export the information to Google Earth while the Location Courier can let other people know where the owner is in an emergency by sending SMS to five pre-set mobile phone numbers with a touch of a button.

China’s major telecommunication equipment manufacturer Huawei introduced its first sports car concept mobile phone (model: M318 (CDMA800MHz/1900MHz) in the USA market through MetroPCS. This is the first mobile phone of Huawei launched in the USA market and I am sure it’s going to give some good competition to already established brands there. Design of this phone looks quite impressive and so is the built quality. Details on the features of this set not available yet.

It is designed to offer enhanced features for playing music and uses a 3.5mm earphone jack; it has 2MP camera, e-book, file viewer, memory card slot and many more features.

This futuristic looking pink (girls?) phone is Sharp cycloid style mobile phone ‘W61SH’ which was launched in Japan market. It supports 1-Seg for mobile. Adopting 2.8-inch wide display, the W61SH supports up to 2,000:1 contrast ratio and Super Vivid engine. It is expected to be available from January 2008. This phone looks somewhat similar to AQUOS 822SH which is again a phone by Sharp.

Toshiba expects to launch its slide type 3G mobile phone ‘920T’ with built-in 1GB memory in Japan market. Supporting up to 5.3 hours of audio recording time, it features 1-Seg for mobile, 3.24M camera and GPS function. Looks like design department of Toshiba has not given much attention to keypad design; it could have been made much better.

Nokia unveiled a premium pair of 3G handsets ‘8800 Arte’ and ‘8800 Sapphire Arte’ that are aimed at the discerning and style-conscious consumers.

The new Nokia 8800 Arte and Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte adopt an elegant and sophisticated design with seamless metal and glass body featuring anti-fingerprint coating. By tapping the steel surface below the display, an analogue clock appears - indicating time in its most classic form. Other features included a 2-inch OLED display with QVGA 240×320 pixels (16 million colors), 3.2M auto focus camera with 8x digital zoom.

Samsung unveils latest mobile WiMAX devices

Samsung Electronics unveiled four latest Mobile WiMAX devices to the Korean market. The devices have been upgraded from previous Mobile WiMAX devices in terms of design and functions. One PDA type (SPH-M8200), one mobile convergence device (SPH-P9200), and two USB modem type(SPH-H1300, SWT-200K) devices have been launched. All four Mobile WiMAX devices are currently available through Korea Telecom (KT)’s Mobile WiMAX network.

SPH-M8200 is a PDA type Mobile WiMAX device which supports Mobile WiMAX and CDMA EV-DO connectivity. 16.6mm thin, this bar type device has enhanced usability with a full touch screen. It supports Terrestrial DMB, Bluetooth, file viewer and enhanced UCC related functions such as video editor, background music.

The SPH-P9200 is a convergence device capable of voice and multimedia data communications through Mobile WiMAX technology. With Microsoft Windows XP as the operating system, users will find the contents and applications familiar and easy to use for work and play. It supports voice, video-telephony calls, Mobile WiMAX, HSDPA and Wi-Fi. The SPH-P9200 has implemented a foldable device increasing mobility with a touch mouse function to increase usability. Users are able to run applications such as MP3, VOD and games without folding out the keyboard.

SPH-H1300 and SWT-H200K are USB type modems which can be connected to laptops for quick use of Mobile WiMAX technology. With the swivel type design, users can comfortably plug in the USB and automatically connect to PC program.

Pantech is launching its new music phone ‘C510′ in Mexico market through TELCEL. Most noticeable feature of the C510 is that it comes with RBD’s latest three songs and their music video. The RBD is a Latin Grammy nominated Mexican pop group gaining popularity in South America and other neighboring countries.

As an enhanced music phone, The C510 features several music-oriented features including Equalizer that allows users to choose the sound tone as they want depending on the different genres. It has 2GB external memory and 1GB memory chip is also provided for more storage. The phone lets users navigate file list with ease by album, singer, or genre. Bluetooth connectivity, 1.3M camera, MPEG 4 recording, game and other multimedia features are included. It is available in four colors; green, purple, blue, and orange.

Motorola displayed its Windows Mobile Smartphone ‘Q9m’ during CTIA 2007, which offers a 3G wireless service called EV-DO and support for the V-Cast music service allowing you to buy and download songs right on your phone.

Adopting 2.4-inch 65k-color TFT LCD screen, 1.3M camera and external pair of stereo speakers, the Q9m features Bluetooth stereo headphones, miniSD/SDHC card support, web browser, and Windows media player that can handle audio and video.

According to the company, if you don’t have a laptop and you want to view and edit Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files, you can do on your phone thanks to Documents To Go.

Amex Digital has just released a GPS enabled cell phone. The handset employs the familiar candy bar form factor, measures 114mm x 49.8 mm x 17mm, houses dual speakers, a 2.5mm phone jack, 1.3MP camera, supports miniSD expansion and has a 2.4 QVGA TFT LCD. Design of this phone is quite simple and some people may like it while others may not.
