pocket dictonary

iriver expects to launch its business card-sized compact electronic dictionary ‘D5′ in Japan market. Being a small device it can be easily carried in pocket without any problem. However I would like to add that many people cary laptop with them and do all the typing work on it, so there is no need of any dictionary.

Adopting a 3-inch LCD display, the D5 supports the content of 33 different kinks of dictionary. Coming in three different colors including black, white and pink, it provides 16 hours of continuous music/video playing time.

It is expected to be available on June 13th, and suggested price is 39,800 JPY for 2GB and 44,800 JPY for 4GB.

Tomato Video Touch

tomato video touch

No it’s not an Apple product! Korean manufacturer Tomato has produced the most eye-catching PMPs, at least the company was pushing out some original looking products for awhile. Not so with the measly 2GB or 4GB ‘Video Touch,’ which doesn’t even try to deviate from Apple’s tried-and-true design, although it does a great job in lowering the bar with its 320 x 240 QVGA screen. Supported file types include MP3, WMA, WAV, FLAC, MPEG-4, and AVI, although you’d really be doing yourself a favor by putting those 59,900 ($63) or 79,900 won ($84) towards a higher capacity, higher resolution device.

Tascam DR-1 digital recorder

recorder

At first look, the Tascam DR-1 doesn’t appear too different from all of its other digital recorder buddies out there, but let’s see the other guys record WAV / MP3 straight to SDHC. Yep, this critter can save 24-bit, 48 kHz WAV files directly to SD or SDHC, and it also features a built-in Li-ion good for around seven hours, a simple (albeit useful) LCD and the inclusion of Variable Speed Audition, which enables it to playback recordings slower than they were inputted without augmenting the pitch. No word right now on price / availability yet.
