ASUS EeePC with 160GB HDD

ASUS expects to release its netbook ‘EeePC 1000-H’ equipped with 160GB HDD in Japan market on October 25. Powered by Intel Atom processor and Windows XP OS preloaded, the EeePC 1000-H is going to be a batter option for people who need smaller yet a loptop which can be used intead of regular laptops anywhere. And yes, it also comes with an inbuilt webcam. It adopts a 10-inch display with 1,024*600 (WSVGA) resolution and 1GB of RAM. Supporting up to 6.9 hours of battery life, it is expected to be available for 59,800 (JPY).

JCHyun announced the launch of its mini-notebook pc ‘Udia Mini Note T100 Office’ in Korea market, which is equipped with MS Office Home & Student 2007 software. Powered by Intel Atom N270 (1.6Ghz) processor, 1GB of DDR2 SDRAM and 80GB S-ATA HDD, the Udia Mini Note T100 Office features Windows XP Home Edition SP3 OS, a 300K webcam which I must say should be at least 1.3MP but 300k is just enough for video chat, three USB ports, multi-card reader, and VGA-out port. It will be available in full white and silver and black cobo.

Mouse Computer will launch its Atom-based mini notebook pc ‘LuvBook U100′ in Japan market in July. Powered by 1.6GHz Atom processor N270 and Windows XP OS, the LuvBook U100 adopts a 1GB of RAM, 80GB HDD, a 10.2-inch WSVGA (1,024×600) display and 1.3M camera.

Dimensions are 260x180x19~31.5mm and weighs about 1.1.6kg

HP introduced its new mini-notebook pc ‘2133’ to gain a greater share of educational spending on computers. The mini-notebook pc, which goes on sale April 15, was designed with feedback from educators. Running on VIA C7-M processor, it adopts 8.9-inch screen with 1280 x 768 WXGA resolution, full qwerty keyboard, touch pad and a VGA webcam.

Suggested price is around 500 USD for a version based on the open-source Linux operating system, and 600 USD for one based on Microsoft’s Windows XP or Vista.

Panasonic presented its 10.4-inch convertible tablet pc ‘ToughBook 19’ running on Intel’s 1.06GHz Core 2 Duo U7500. This is not common man’s laptop but more for military purpose or people who work in harsh conditions such as mines etc. Adopting 80GB HDD and extensible memory up to 4GB, the ToughBook 19 supports 1,024 x 768 (XGA) resolution, 2M camera with LED flash. Suggested price is 3,731 USD.
