Sony announced the launch of its new premium mp3 player ‘Walkman NWZ-A820/A720 Series’ which are available in three capacities, 4GB, 8GB and 16MB.

Adopting a 2.4-inch QVGA LCD screen with LED backlight, these mp3 players also supports video codec including AVC(H.264/AVC) and MPEG4 in 30fps, and features bundled Sony’s 13.5mm EX series earphone. Measuring 5.1×9.39×0.93cm at 58g weight, the NWZ-A820 comes in black and pink while the NWZ-A720 does four different colors such as black, white, pink and gold.

Available in pink, blue and gold motifs and will arrive in 1GB and 2GB forms and weighs 24-grams. Users will also find a built-in equalizer, MP3 / WMA support and a 128 x 32 OLED display to boot. Its internal battery will last for around 17 hours sans a recharge, and it is priced at just ¥6,980 ($65) / ¥8,980 ($84). It will, however, go on sale in Japan from February 1st.

iriver AMOLED mp4 player ‘Clix+’ supporting DMB function was launched in Korea market. Display size is 2.2-inch QVGA and video playback at 30fps. It supports MPEG4 and WMV9 file formats and various video files can be converted automatically using ‘iriver Plus 3′. It adopted a direct-click interface and it is 12.8mm thick.

Suggested price is 278,000 KRW for 8GB, 218,000 KRW for 4GB, price of 2GB model is not known yet.

Acelabs announced the launch of its new 11mm-thick slim premium mp3 player ‘S5′ in Korea market. The S5, successor to the company’s previous model ‘S3′, features 2.8-inch LCD and DMB tuner. By adopting Medio-2000 multimedia chip, the S5 boasts outstanding reception rate anywhere, enabling users to enjoy T-DMB program from free, the company claims.

Other features include video playback, image viewer, e-book, and FM radio.Suggested price is 129,000(KRW) for 2GB and 155,000(KRW) for 4GB.
