Samsung Electronics announced today that it has begun mass producing 256 gigabyte (GB) solid state drives for use in notebooks and desktop PCs. The new 256GB SSD more than doubles the performance rates of Samsung 64GB and 128GB SSDs to become the SSD with the highest overall performance in the personal computer industry, combining sequential read rates of 220MB/s (megabytes per second) with sequential write rates of 200MB/s.

The Samsung 256GB SSD expedites data transfer when large multimedia files are simultaneously read and stored. It can store 25 high-definition movies in just 21 minutes, a significant advancement over a 7200rpm HDD, which takes about 70 minutes. Furthermore, the 256GB SSD launches applications ten times faster than the fastest 7200rpm notebook HDD. The 256GB SSD’s advanced performance can be attributed to a new, optimized, single platform design consisting of a chip controller, NAND flash and special drive firmware all developed by Samsung. This single platform is designed to easily adapt to Samsung’s 40nm class NAND flash memory.

Similar in weight to a 128GB SSD (81 grams), the 2.5-inch Samsung 256GB SSD retains the standard 9.5 millimeter (mm) drive thickness. Samsung’s 256GB SSD is also available with optional proprietary encryption programming that provides full disk encryption, a key feature for many corporate users.

Transcend announced the launch of its 2.5-inch portable hard drive ‘StoreJet 25C’ with 500GB capacity, which supports USB 2.0 interface and plug and play. This drive will easily fit inside your pocket and guess what, it won’t need any adapter for power as it can do with the little power it will get from USB cable that you connect to it for data transfer! Sweet. Carry two of these and you have 1TB (well not actually but nearer to it) data holding capacity with you anywhere.

When a number of items increase, we make a directory of it. Suppose there were very few phone numbers we have to deal with then we would just memorize them and there was no need of a directory. Similarly the number of web host has increased and there was a need of a web hosting directory. However this directory is online directory and it does more than just listing web host in alphabetical orders. Most important feature is the web hosting rating so that you can come to know instantly which web host is performing better than others. This saves your time which we used to spend before asking people in online forums and communities and wait for a proper reply. Now because of this rating, we can come to know about the best host within seconds.

When buying host, you must have some basic information about what you are going to use and what does the host offer. Basic thins are like platforms which are mainly Windows and Linux platform of hosting. There are other things as well like Cold fusion which s a web programming language of the server-side nature. It supports a variety of popular databases such as dBase, FoxPro, MS Access and Paradox. This technology gives a developer the ability to create dynamic content. Cold Fusion is essentially a simple tag-based language. When integrated into a web hosting server, it enables the creation of well designed personal sites, e-commerce sites, publishing systems and more. You can come to know about all if you read web hosting tutorials. These tutorials are available for free at web hosting directory so do take advantage of them in increasing your knowledge about web hosting.

You would also like to checkout web hosting awards and obviously a web hosting which has got many awards must be having something good in it. However don’t just go with awards, you should also consider other things like web space, bandwidth, monthly price of the package etc and most important is customer support. A good web host provides prompt customer support.

Narae Inter introduced a new ball point pen with a laser pointer combined with 4GB USB. The laser pointer works on rechargeable battery and can be charged through USB. These types of gadgets look good for one second but then you find that there are several draw backs. The pen will be bulky due to rechargeable battery inside and small refill means you will have to change refill often. Then refill of such pens are rare and not easily available making the pen useless after some time.
